Next Meeting New Suncook School Cafeteria The first meeting of the Lovell Neighborhood Watch was held on February 28, 2006 with 50 people attending. Sergeants Matt Baker and Tim Ontengco, both local residents, addressed the group on the basics of how a crime watch program works. There were many questions answered during the presentation. It was stressed how important it is to call in any bit of information you may have. Update Notes I would like to thank all of you who attended the first Lovell Neighborhood Watch meeting. The officers from the Oxford County Sheriffs department were very impressed with the turn out; Tim mentioned we may have broken a record for the largest crowd at a crime watch meeting. We are moving in the right direction. Together we can keep and restore Lovell to the quaint little western Maine town it should be. There will be a newsletter email and posters out about the next meeting. Hopefully all of you will be able to attend, as we need to be an up and working unit by summer. We have a person doing a web page and monthly newsletter for us, take some time to look over the website. Please make a list of questions you may have for the next meeting. We will get sections of town organized to have captains, and start the system working. Please communicate with each other to help get people lined up to help with the duties. Bob Drew has indicated the town will work with us on purchasing signs. Businesses may purchase signs as well; the cost is approximately $35 each. I certainly do not have all the answers but feel free to email or call me at 925-3295 with any questions, and we will try to get the answers. I hope you all feel at ease with the officers and will call them. Remember, every little tid bit of information is very important. See you at the next meeting for putting the system into action so Lovell will remain home sweet home to all. Thanks so much for everything. Roxanne Craig |
