Notes from the Lovell Neighborhood Watch Meeting: May 24, 2006:
The guest speaker was Linda Hooker, Administrative Assistant to Sheriff Skip Herrick. She discussed; Elder abuse topics and the fraud problems in Maine, The Do Not Call List, Stopping Junk Mail, and Identity Theft.
Sergeants Matt Baker and Timothy Ontengco reiterated how important it is to call in any and all information. Some news has been listed on our Incident Report page and more will be added soon. Names will not be released until the cases are closed. Rest assured, people are being investigated, have confessed, and the cases cover robberies from a few months ago right back to the VFW robbery two years ago. The incidents cover Lovell and other towns and will result in more cases being closed than previously believed.
Watch signs are up in town (See Photos) and 10 more are ordered for residents to buy for their business or association.
We still need zone captains for West and North Lovell.
We will have a booth at Lovell Old Home Days to pass out window decals and hand outs. Volunteers are needed to man the booth for hour intervals from 10 am to 3 pm. Please call me if you would like more information.
Corille Bresette and Dawn Ferguson are expanding our notification system, Lynn Sanborn is notifying the people that live on private roads and associations.
There is no meeting scheduled for July, so please attend the June 21 meeting. Kids with "busy bags" are welcome to sit at a back table. Bring your own coffee, drinks and snacks. 78 Lovell homes with email are getting this newsletter today.
Thanks so much,
Roxanne Craig
