Notes from the Lovell Neighborhood Watch Meeting: October 25, 2006:

Meeting attendees were given shocking news in advance of the main stream media. Thanks to a tip from a concerned resident, the Oxford County Sheriff's Department arrested Gilbert Telford, 68, of Lovell. Read more, and see a photo and video here and If you think a child you know might have had inappropriate contact with Telford, give the sheriff's department a call at 1-800-733-1421.

Update: Benjamin Blasi, 21 of Brownfield, Maine has been arrested with a DNA match from the June 8th break in of the Center Lovell Market in Lovell, Maine. This follows the investigation by Deputy Joshua Wyman and Sergeant Timothy Ontengco. Read More and see photo

Fryeburg is in the process of setting up their Neighborhood Watch Group. For now we invite all Fryeburg residents to attend our meetings, sign up for our mailing list, and get involved. Please let all your friends know. Email them our Lovell site, and print out copies of the flyer to pass out. Ask them to attend our meeting to get them comfortable and show them how simple and good a Watch Group is for everyone.

Regarding the alternate month coverage - if you have a serious issue and want to speak to a specific Oxford County Sheriff Officer, call the toll free number and leave your message during any month of the year.

Congratulations go out to Chief Deputy and Mrs. Christopher Wainwright on the birth of their 9 lb 10 oz baby boy on October 23rd.

Thanks for keeping Lovell a safer place for everyone to call home. With 100 members on the email list, more residents should be attending the meetings. You are missing a great deal of information, and the opportunity to ask questions. While everyone is participating by keeping informed and calling in tips, to be at the meetings first hand and interact with the law enforcement officers is something that cannot be put into this note.

The marijuana lesson was VERY informative. Meeting attendees got information about growing and selling the plants, how to find it, and what to do if it is found on your property! Did you know there were 23 plants found in town this month? Protect your property and protect your children, there will be information and photos available for viewing at the next meeting.
