The June meeting had a new twist. The guest speaker was Deputy Doug Taft, the resource officer at the Sacopee schools. We learned about all the duties he performs. Deputy Taft is not a police officer patrolling the halls. He interacts with the kids; a person for the kids to come to. He leads lock down and fire drills. He reads to younger children and even can be involved in coaching. This is a grant funded program. It was interesting to hear the stories he and Deputy Wyman told of their attachments with the students. The Incident Report was read; 4 burglaries, one raccoon, 9 alarms,1 identity theft fraud, 2 accidents, property dispute, and 4 burglaries. Please let this be a reminder that it is so important to report all suspicious activity. Spring has sprung, many will crank down the windows, crank up the tunes, and do some frisky moves with their automobiles. Be safe! With Memorial weekend upon us there will be extra patrols on the roads. Click it or ticket. There is a crackdown going on now to use those seatbelts. Thanks for supporting the watch. You are missing out if you are not attending the meetings. Next meeting June 17th 6:30 pm! Roxanne Craig
