Notes from the Lovell Neighborhood Watch Meeting: June 15, 2011

An excellent presentation by Lt. Grzyb last night. The new video was very in depth about the Crystal Perry murder. He did a great follow up of info and answering questions. Hard to believe something that big happened right in our own "back yard."

The other clip is on our main web page for your viewing.

Sgt. Ontengco presented the incident report from the Sheriff's office. 23 calls, it has been busy and about the same report from our State Police coverage. Some incidents were 4 burglaries, an unattended death, some 911 hang ups. Burglaries are happening every day at a very fast pace. The officers really need our help to report all suspicious activity. You will not bother anyone please call it in. We as citizens do not realize how some very simple piece of info can help solve things. Feel free to call me if you do not want to report something I can help you.

There has been some mischief around the tennis courts in the village. The officers are asking you please to report anything you see that is not quite normal.

We had a discussion about welfare checks. Think about places you pass every day, if the grass is not cut, or the car has not moved in days, someone needs to know and check it out. Just a simple phone call, 911 is easy. In the heat, check on elderly and handicapped people. It is so simple to be a good "neighbor."

Lovell Old Home Days is coming right up July 16th. Be sure to attend to enjoy all the fun. Pig Roast Friday 15th of July. Saturday will be filled with road race, parade, food and games. Deputy Maifeld will be under the big tent on Saturday doing Iris Scans. Plan to get the free simple scan done.
Photos from last month's meeting, when Dep. Doug Maifeld spoke and demonstrated the Iris Scan, are here.

Thanks to all that came out to the meeting, it was a good show. And we all got home to watch the Bruins too! The next meeting is August 17th. Enjoy the summer. School is out, beware of kids playing, bikes, and practice good water safety.
Thank You,
